  • Snow Removal

The District provides snow removal and ice control service through contract with Placer County. Approximately 10 miles of road are serviced by the Utilities Department and receive snow removal and sanding at a rate 3 to 4 times more frequently than the roads maintained by the County. The District owns 3 Loaders fitted with quick connects for the exchange of buckets, plows and snow blowers; 2 snow blowers capable of blowing 1,700 tons per hour; 1 grader fitted with front plow and a sand truck. Although some of the equipment is designated for snow removal only, the quick connect capabilities on the loaders and plow removal on the grader allow us to utilize the equipment for summer projects as well as winter plowing.
