The Northstar Utility Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of our water systems.

Northstar’s water is generally from a mountain spring feed located below the ski hill, supplies are collected at the Big Springs and Sawmill Flat spring systems and are filtered and treated at the Northstar Treatment Plant.

As part of our system we also operate and maintain a 180 acre foot Reservoir, 16.2 miles of water line, 10 pressure reducing stations for 4 pressure zones, 2 - 1,000,000 gallon water storage tanks, 2 - 275,000 gallon storage tanks, 1 - 280,000 gallon storage tank, and approximately 1,500 residential and commercial services.
